The LWRC IC-MKII SBR in OD Green is the short barreled rifle version of LWRC International’s newest flagship 5.56 gas piston platform, the successor to the celebrated IC-A5 SBR. The OD Green finish gives it a classic hard use look that stands apart from a sea of black rifles.
The upgrades over the older gun are substantial, and every one of them makes the rifle easier to run, service or shoot well.
How the LWRC IC-MKII SBR Improves on the A5 SBR
Monoforged upper and lower receivers add strength where a short, rail heavy gun needs it most. Tying the handguard interface into the upper itself removes the flex inherent to barrel nut mounted rails and keeps mounted gear where you put it.
The longer M-LOK handguard slides off after loosening just two screws at its base. More rail means better hand placement and more mounting space, while easy removal means the gas system and barrel are always a minute away from inspection.
A redesigned butterfly style gas key adjusts the proven two way piston system through the machined openings in the handguard. No pins, no punches and no bench time, just a quick turn and back to shooting.

Bolt Carrier and Specifications
The one piece bolt carrier is a signature LWRC touch, nickel boron coated for lubricity and simple cleaning, with rearward relief cuts designed for function even after water submersion. Carbon wipes off nickel boron with a rag, and the coating lets the carrier run with very little lubricant when conditions are dusty.
Adjustable gas is the other half of the story. Short barrels run high port pressure and short dwell times, so being able to reduce gas for a suppressor or add it back for weak ammunition keeps the rifle cycling correctly instead of hammering itself.
Mounting is M-LOK, caliber is 5.56, receivers are monoforged and the finish is OD Green. There is nothing on the sheet that exists for show.
Olive drab has been the color of working rifles for generations. It hides handling wear better than black, pairs naturally with green and tan gear, and gives the gun a purposeful look that never goes out of style.
The short barreled format is what pulls it all together. With a stock rather than a brace you get a repeatable cheek weld and length of pull, and that consistency shows up immediately in how quickly you can call your hits.
NFA Ownership, Care and Compatibility
Because this is a factory short barreled rifle, it transfers as an NFA item, so plan on the usual paperwork with your dealer. Once approved it is yours to shoot like any other rifle, subject to the normal rules on transport across state lines.
Care follows standard piston AR practice. Wipe the piston and operating rod, brush the bore, keep the carrier lightly oiled and verify the gas setting after any change to ammunition or muzzle device. Cleaning is faster than on a direct impingement gun because the receiver never fills with combustion gas in the first place.
Standard AR-15 magazines, grips, stocks, triggers and optics all fit, and M-LOK accessories mount directly to the handguard. For a piston driven carbine in its most compact form, the LWRC IC-MKII SBR is hard to beat, and OD Green suits it perfectly. Like every firearm, it ships to your local FFL for pickup after your background check.
