The AGM Adder V2 35-384 Thermal Rifle Scope is the next generation of the AGM Adder, and it ships free. A supercharged version of the original Adder 35-384, this AGM Adder V2 35-384 offers an enormous sensor upgrade from sub-35mk to sub-15mk along with AGM’s first shutterless NUC system. It is a serious thermal optic aimed at hunters and shooters who work after dark. Outpost Firearms stocks it complete with its American made mount.
What the AGM Adder V2 35-384 Improves
The sensor jump is the headline. Moving from sub-35mk to sub-15mk thermal sensitivity means the scope resolves much smaller temperature differences, which translates into a cleaner, more detailed image with better separation between an animal and its background. In marginal conditions, that difference decides whether you identify a target or just see a warm blob.
The shutterless NUC system is the other major change and AGM’s first. Conventional thermal optics interrupt the image periodically to recalibrate, which is exactly the wrong moment when something is moving. Removing that interruption keeps you looking at the scene continuously.
Features
- Sub-15mk sensor sensitivity, upgraded from the sub-35mk of the original Adder
- Shutterless NUC system, a first for AGM, for an uninterrupted image
- New micro semi-circular 2560 x 2560 display, also an AGM first
- 4X base magnification delivering a crisper image at high magnification than the original
- 64 GB of internal storage with media albums viewable directly on the scope
- Internal 9 hour rechargeable 18650 battery, 1000g recoil resistance, and a display off tilt sensor
Display, Palettes, and Build
The new micro semi-circular 2560 x 2560 display is the piece most owners notice first. Sensor quality sets the ceiling on what a thermal optic can see, but display resolution decides how much of that detail actually reaches your eye. A high resolution panel is what makes the 4X base magnification of the AGM Adder V2 35-384 look crisp rather than blocky when you push in.
Additional improvements on the Adder V2 include red and green monochrome color palettes plus cold and warm hue viewing modes. Different palettes suit different terrain and different targets, and having several to switch between is genuinely useful rather than a spec sheet filler.
Every AGM Adder V2 is waterproof and shockproof, rated to 1000g recoil resistance, and shipped with an American made ADM Recon 30mm mount. The display off tilt sensor saves battery when the rifle is set down, which matters on an optic running an internal 9 hour rechargeable 18650 cell.
Field Use, Storage, and Care
Plan your power. Nine hours covers a long night, but thermal optics are hungry and cold weather shortens runtime, so carry a way to top up if you are out for multiple sessions. Charge fully before every trip rather than relying on what is left from last time.
The 64 GB of internal storage with on scope media albums is more useful than it sounds. Reviewing your own footage is one of the fastest ways to improve at identifying targets thermally, and being able to do it on the scope means you can do it in the field.
Treat the objective lens as the delicate part. Use a lens pen or blower first, then a proper lens cloth, and keep the caps on in transit. Mount the optic with the supplied ADM Recon mount torqued to specification, and confirm zero after transport. Everything is backed by AGM’s 5 year warranty. Who It Is For
This is for the shooter who has decided that night work is a real part of what they do. It is a substantial optic at a substantial price, and it repays that with an image quality that older thermals cannot approach. Ships direct to your door, no FFL required.
