Shooters who want a .22 to reach a little further and hit a little harder. Interceptor pushes a full weight 40 grain bullet at around 1,470 feet per second, well above ordinary high velocity ammunition. Flatter trajectory, more energy at the far end, and enough authority for larger pests.

Faster isn’t always more accurate

Speed has a cost in rimfire. Very fast .22 loads are sometimes less accurate than standard velocity match ammunition, because a bullet crossing the sound barrier gets buffeted. For bullseye work at 50 yards, slower is often better. For pests at 75 yards, this is the better tool.

It is loud. Not one for a suppressor.
