Who it’s for
Owners of .22 LR bolt actions, lever guns and single shots who want a quiet round for close work. The case is nearly the length of a .22 LR, so it sits in the chamber much more like the ammunition the rifle was built for. That generally means smoother feeding from a tube or box magazine than a CB Short gives you, and less of the fouling ring that forms in front of a short case.
CCI compares the noise to some air rifles. Most of what you hear is the action and the bullet hitting the target.

A CB Long is still a firearm cartridge, and a 29 grain bullet can travel a long way. Town and county rules on discharging a firearm apply to it just like any other .22, so check them before you go after rats behind the shed. It won’t cycle a semi-auto either.
