The .375 caliber 400 grain Lazer tipped hollow point is Cutting Edge’s long range bullet for the big .375s, a single feed design sold fifty to the box. It is turned from solid copper on a CNC Swiss lathe, so it is lead free and every bullet in the box is the same as the one before it.
What it does on target
The Lazer tip is a polymer tip on a hollow point. On impact the nose fractures into three petals that break away and cut their own channels, and the deep base keeps going as a solid. Cutting Edge rates it as effective anywhere inside 1,000 yards, and it still opens at impact velocities down to 1,500 feet per second, which is what makes it useful at the far end of that range.
Single feed means what it says: the profile is long for its weight to get the ballistic coefficient up, and it is meant to be fed one at a time rather than run through a magazine. That is the price of a high, consistent BC in a 400 grain .375, and it is a price long range shooters are usually happy to pay.
Who it is for
It suits the .375 owner who shoots at distance and wants a heavy, high BC bullet with terminal performance, rather than a match bullet that only punches paper. For dangerous game work at ordinary ranges, the 300 grain .375 Safari Solid is the better tool.
