Can You Ship Ammo to Connecticut?

What you need at your end

  • A pistol permit, a long gun eligibility certificate, or an ammunition certificate from DESPP which costs $35 and lasts five years
  • Your Connecticut driver's licence or state ID showing your date of birth

Why Connecticut works this way

Connecticut requires one of those three credentials before ammunition may be transferred to you.

Magazines are a separate question

Connecticut limits magazines to 10 rounds. This catches people out, because it has nothing to do with the ammunition rules above. Even where ammunition reaches you without any trouble, we cannot send a magazine over the limit.
