Can You Ship Ammo to Illinois?

Yes. Straight to your door.

We ship to your door, but only to the address printed on your FOID card or your Illinois ID.

What you need at your end

  • A valid FOID card
  • Your Illinois driver's licence or state ID
  • A FOID card requires you to be 21 or over, or to have written parental consent

Why Illinois works this way

Illinois requires a Firearm Owner's Identification card to acquire ammunition. For an out of state purchase you send us a copy of the FOID card and your Illinois licence or ID, and we may only ship to an address shown on one of those documents.

Places in Illinois we cannot reach

Local rules sit on top of the state ones. We cannot deliver to Chicago and Cook County.

Ammunition Illinois does not allow

  • Armour piercing
  • Dragon's breath shells
  • Bolo shells
  • Flechette shells
  • Exploding ammunition

Magazines are a separate question

Illinois limits magazines to 10 rounds for handguns and 15 for long guns. This catches people out, because it has nothing to do with the ammunition rules above. Even where ammunition reaches you without any trouble, we cannot send a magazine over the limit.
