Mind the old guns

Original Colt Single Action Armys and older replicas were built for black powder pressures. Standard factory .45 Colt like this is fine in a sound modern gun, but if your revolver is genuinely antique, have a gunsmith confirm it’s safe to shoot before you feed it anything.

.45 Colt is not .45 ACP, and it isn’t .454 Casull either. A .454 Casull revolver will fire it, but nothing chambered for .45 Colt should ever see a .454.
