.40 S&W shooters, and there are plenty, because for two decades this was what American police carried. 180 grain is the heavier of the two common weights and the one most duty ammunition used, so it’s the sensible weight to practice with.

The .40 has a reputation for a sharp, brisk recoil. A 180 grain bullet tames that a little compared to a 165.

Hard on brass, never in a 10mm
