Who it’s for

Anyone with an AR looking for a lead free, non-expanding bullet with some weight to it, for hogs, coyotes and general use. Fort Scott makes this one on a lathe from solid brass rod. Brass is harder than copper, so the bullet holds its shape completely, and it relies entirely on tumbling after impact for its effect.

At 62 grain it carries better in the wind than the lighter Fort Scott loads, and it’s loaded to 5.56 NATO pressure.

A long bullet for its weight

Brass is much less dense than lead, so a 62 grain brass bullet is as long as a much heavier lead core bullet. Plan on a 1:8 or faster twist. A 1:9 barrel may or may not keep it stable, and a 1:12 almost certainly won’t. Oval holes in paper tell you it isn’t working.
