Who it’s for

Anyone shooting paper, steel or competition. ELD stands for Extremely Low Drag, and the whole point of the bullet is the tip. Ordinary polymer tips soften from air friction at speed, and a deformed tip changes the ballistic coefficient in ways you can’t predict. Hornady’s Heat Shield tip is made from a material that doesn’t do that, so the bullet flies the way the chart says at 800 yards as well as at 100.

140 grain is the standard weight for the cartridge and the one most drop charts and load data assume, which makes building a dope card a lot easier.
