Who it’s for

Owners of rifles in 6mm Remington, many of them older Remington bolt actions that have been in the family for years. The cartridge shoots a 6mm bullet a little faster than a .243 Winchester and is a fine deer and varmint round, but few companies still load it. PPU is one of them. This 100 grain soft point is the standard deer weight.

The brass is boxer primed and reloadable, which is worth a lot when new 6mm Remington cases are scarce.

Got an old .244 Remington?

The 6mm Remington began life in 1955 as the .244 Remington, and the ammunition is interchangeable. The early .244 rifles had a 1:12 twist, which may not stabilize a 100 grain bullet well. If yours is marked .244, try it on paper at 100 yards before trusting it on a deer. It also will not chamber in a .243.
