Who it’s for
25-06 hunters after whitetail and mule deer. The cartridge is a .30-06 case necked down to .257″, which makes it very fast and very flat, with recoil most people find easy to manage. It has always been a fine deer and antelope round.
Deer Season XP uses what Winchester calls an Extreme Point bullet: a polymer tip with a large diameter that starts expansion quickly and transfers energy fast. It’s built specifically for deer, not as a general purpose bullet.
