Can You Ship Ammo to New Jersey?
Yes, but it goes to a licensed dealer.
We do not drop ship ammunition to New Jersey homes. Handgun calibres need your documents on file before we send anything.
What you need at your end
- For handgun calibres, an FPIC card, a permit to purchase a handgun, or a carry permit, and you must be 21 or over
- For rifle and shotgun ammunition, no state permit is needed, and a New Jersey hunting licence is also accepted
Why New Jersey works this way
New Jersey treats handgun ammunition as any calibre that can be fired in a handgun. That catches several rounds people think of as rifle calibres, so check before you assume your order is exempt.
Magazines are a separate question
New Jersey limits magazines to 10 rounds. This catches people out, because it has nothing to do with the ammunition rules above. Even where ammunition reaches you without any trouble, we cannot send a magazine over the limit.
