Who it’s for

AR shooters who want genuine M193 rather than commercial .223. M193 is the older US military 5.56 specification: a 55 grain lead core full metal jacket loaded to NATO pressure, and it predates the heavier M855. Five hundred rounds is a proper training supply.

Because the core is lead rather than steel, it’s usually welcome at ranges that turn away M855.

Mind the chamber

This is NATO pressure ammunition. A rifle stamped .223 Remington only is not the place for it. You want a chamber marked 5.56 NATO or .223 Wylde.

One advantage worth knowing: since M193 has no steel in the bullet, it usually passes range rules that ban steel core ammunition. Check anyway, but it’s rarely the problem M855 is.
