Can You Ship Ammo to New York?

Yes, but it goes to a licensed dealer.

We ship to a licensed dealer in New York. You collect it there after the state check.

What you need at your end

  • Photo ID at collection
  • A New York State Police background check on every ammunition purchase
  • The dealer's transfer fee, usually around $25, on top of the state fee of about $2.50

Why New York works this way

Since September 2023 New York has required a background check on every ammunition purchase under the Concealed Carry Improvement Act. Ammunition cannot be sent straight to a home address.

Magazines are a separate question

New York limits magazines to 10 rounds. This catches people out, because it has nothing to do with the ammunition rules above. Even where ammunition reaches you without any trouble, we cannot send a magazine over the limit.
